SAINT PAUL, Minn.- RailCats RHP Willie Glen shutout the RedHawks in game one of the best-of-five Northern League 2006 Championship race at the U.S. Steel Yard Tuesday evening. The two teams meet again for game two Wednesday evening at the U.S. Steel Yard in Gary, Indiana.

Northern League Championship Rematch

SAINT PAUL, Minn.- The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have won the Western Division Northern League Title for 2006.

After todays 7-0 win over Schaumburg in the Eastern Division this afternoon the Gary SouthShore RailCats and Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks will meet head-to-head for a Northern League Championship rematch.

The first two games will take place in Gary, Indiana at the U.S. Steel Yard Tuesday and Wednesday evenings with the final three games taking place at Newman Field in Fargo, North Dakota on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

RailCats Shut Down And Shut Out Flyers 7-0

SAINT PAUL, Minn.- The Gary SouthShore RailCats shut down and shut out the Flyers 7-0 at the U.S. Steel Yard with 3 straight wins for the Eastern Division Title and advance to the Northern League Championship series next week. The first game will be against the Western Division winner at the U.S. Steel Yard on Tuesday.

Northern League Playoffs Continue

SAINT PAUL, Minn.- Tonight the Schaumburg Flyers go head-to-head against the Gary SouthShore RailCats at the U.S. Steel Yard in Gary, Indiana. The Flyers have won the first two games in a best-of-five contest for the Eastern Division Title.

If the RailCats can win the next three games in the series they could claim the Eastern Division Title and go on to the Championship to defend their 2005 Northern League Title.

Currently the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks are also down two games to the Winnipeg GoldEyes and meet again this evening in a best-of-five contest for the Western Division Title.

Both the RedHawks and the RailCats have to win the next three games in order to move on to the 2006 Championship series next week.

SAINT PAUL, Minn.- The Gary SouthShore RailCats proved once again that under Manager Greg Tagert they are a team to be taken seriously.

The RailCats have won 8 games straight to carry them into the playoffs.

Tanner Townsend and Kevin White both homered off the JackHammers to keep the RailCats at a 3 run lead over Joliet.

The RailCats are well on their way to defending their 2005 Championship title. The RailCats meet tomorrow head-to-head against the first half East Division winners the Schaumburg Flyers.
