SAINT PAUL, Minn.- Under Manager Greg Tagert the Gary SouthShore RailCats have once again come back from the brink of elimination moving onto another Northern League Championship.
With one week left in the season the RailCats once again proved they are a team to be reckoned with. During the 2007 season the RailCats have their best record since they began playing in the Northern League, without a stadium in 2002.
Since signing on to join the RailCats in 2005, Manager Greg Tagert has taken key components, tactics, coaching staff and players utilizing the best of each to bring the RailCats to three championships in three seasons.
Fargo was eliminated by Calgary earlier this week removing any chance for a rubber match between the RailCats and RedHawks for 2007. Winnipeg was a major contender for the championship but the RailCats came back with their signature style in the bottom of the series and forced a game five which in turn opened them up to take any opportunity for the championship away from Winnipeg.
Manager Greg Tagert and the RailCats will face Manager Mike Busch and the Vipers on Tuesday, September 11th for the final series of the 2007 Northern League season.
