Playoff Dreams Still Alive For Gary

"Strength does not come from physical capacity.
It comes from an indomitable will."
- Mahatma Gandhi

GARY, Ind. - The will is strong with the Gary RailCats this season and nothing is more evident than their abilities to remain in direct competition with Saint Paul and Lincoln for the second half Southern Division spot. The playoff dreams continue to remain alive and well for the first time in the Gary South Shore RailCats history with the Northern League. They have a chance at a wild card playoff spot should they not win the Sothern Division which would allow them to compete for their first championship against the Northern Leagues dominant force this year the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks.

With four games remaining and important key players Outfielder Anthony Iapoce, Outfielder Scott Samuels, Catcher Jose Yepez and Infielder Tanner Townsend back into position their strength is building again. Last night at the U.S. Steel Yard they had a better showing against the St. Paul Saints than the previous game coming back to take a one run lead with a score of 4-3 in the 5th. They couldn'’t keep the lead they made in the sixth off an RBI by Anthony Iapoce bringing in Jay Pecci and the Saints won the game with a score of 6-5.
